MoMA: Great Research Tool!

Hi guys,

So I just wanted to make you aware of an amazing research tool that you all have at your fingertips and that is the MoMA website.

When I was researching photocopy artists for our first project, I turned to the MoMA website after seeing many photocopy prints on exhibit in the museum. I thought I would give it a shot and see whether or not they had that work online as well, and boy did they ever! It was a main resource for finding imagery on photocopy artists.

Just to give you an idea of the website, this is the homepage. Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 3.59.53 PM

As you can see the search button is in the BOTTOM LEFT corner.

I searched for photocopy –

And I got a lot of pages regarding photocopy on the MoMA database. Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 4.01.09 PM

I then refined my search by clicking “The Collection” and I was able to see a few pages worth of imagery that the museum houses online.

Just as a little cheat sheet, you can click here to see some of what I was able to find.

Overall it was an awesome experience and I found a lot of amazing work – work that isn’t even featured in the museum, but that they have on archive. I have used it since and it proved very helpful! Enjoy you guys!
