It’s Okay Not to be Perfect

Today, I learned as an aspiring designer that perfection does not exist in the beginning. I am met with the lesson, I always try to get other people to learn. You must risk failure to succeed. That is my motto. It’s not about the end. It’s about the process. In that process, we will find meaning and hopefully something useful and enjoyable will come out.

In Graphic Design 1, we performed an exercise that taught us about the design process. It was extremely fascinating because we learned as an adult we are taught to edit. We also learned that as adults, we don’t just allow ourselves to create. We may worry about what our peers think. In the end, we learned experimentation and the balance of leisure can help us become better designers.
